Tetrafluoroethane, commonly known as R134a, HFC134a and HFC-134a, is a colorless, nontoxic and incombustible chemical substance, insoluble in water (67mg / L, 25 ℃), soluble in ether, with a ozone depletion potential of 0. Its thermodynamic performance is very similar to that of CFC-12, comparable to that of CFC-12 in safety, and has been recognized as the best substitute for CFC-12.
