Oxaliplatin, also known as losadine and oxaliplatin, belongs to platinum derivatives. It can be used alone or in combination with fluorouracil in the treatment of colorectal cancer metastasis after the failure of fluorouracil treatment. It is the third generation of platinum anti-tumor complex after cisplatin and carboplatin, and the only drug with significant activity for colorectal cancer so far. The principle of action is to inhibit DNA synthesis and replication by generating alkylation complexes and acting on DNA to form cross-linking within and between chains. It can also inhibit the proliferation of ovarian cancer and melanoma cell lines.
