Thiamethoxam is a new nicotine insecticide. Its mechanism is similar to that of imidacloprid. It can selectively inhibit nicotinic acid acetylcholinesterase receptor in insect central nervous system, and then block the normal conduction of insect central nervous system, resulting in the death of insect when paralysis occurs. It not only has contact killing, stomach toxicity and inhaling activity, but also has higher activity, better safety, wider insecticidal spectrum, fast action speed and long duration. It is a better variety to replace those organophosphorus, carbamate and organochlorine insecticides with high toxicity to mammals, residues and environmental problems. It has high activity to Coleoptera, Diptera, Lepidoptera, especially Homoptera. It can effectively control all kinds of aphids, leafhoppers, planthoppers, whiteflies, beetle larvae, potato beetles, nematodes, ground beetles, leafminer moths and many kinds of chemical pesticides. There was no cross resistance with imidacloprid, acetamiprid and nitenpyram. It can be used for stem and leaf treatment, seed treatment and soil treatment. The suitable crops are rice, beet, rape, potato, cotton, bean, fruit tree, peanut, sunflower, soybean, tobacco and orange. It is safe and harmless for crops to use at the recommended dose.
